St. Raphael – Une Si Petite Jolie Plage (2008)

The beach in Nice is lovely, but sometimes the pebbles make me long for a soft and sandy beach. Right beside the big beach in St. Raphael, we found this lovely little beach, a five minutes walk from the railway station.

Far more interesting though, is the old town of St. Raphael, a small area north of the railway station, built around the old temple.

A small square in the old town.

Beautiful, colourful old buildings, in sloping cobbled little streets.

Small alleys, with even smaller alleys around the corner.

Another charm: not many tourists come here. Why? Maybe they don’t know about this place, or maybe the tourists in this area are in for more mondain shit.

A lovely trompe d’oeuil window.

Olive tree in the market square.
